Hazlewood School is a K-6 school located in Town Creek, Alabama. The school has been located on the present site since 1960. The present structure consists of an original building and five additions built in the years 1967, 1973, 1979, 1982, and 1996. Today, our school includes 25 classrooms, a library, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, and an auditorium.
There are 240 students enrolled. The staff of 25 includes 18 certified teachers, 3 paraprofessionals, 1 secretary/bookkeeper, and 1 custodian.
Prior to 2008, Hazlewood Elementary was a K-6 school. Beginning with the 2008 school year, the 7th grade was added, and beginning in 2009 the 8th grade was added. The addition of the 7th & 8th grades brought the addition of athletic teams. In the 2009-2010 school year, we had girls' volleyball and basketball teams and a boys' basketball team.
Due to district realignment in 2013, Hazlewood's 7th & 8th grades moved to R.A. Hubbard, and R.A. Hubbard's K-6 grades moved to Hazlewood. We had a very positive first year of adjustment, and this year we are excited to once again strive to be, "Where the Best Get Better!"
